Strictly for kids, Garageheads stay away! This series is meant to approach kids (such as my two grandsons) to sounds I hope they’ll dig better than the traditional kiddies’ tunes and introduce them to garage (in other words: to the best music there is!). What they’ll get is good fun, and some ass kickin’ movers (sorry for the language kids) you might classify loosely under the novelty tag. Actually tho’, the musical frame of this series has been slightly widened to include more genres like Ska, Twist, Surf, and even Bossa Nova, Cha Cha and Tango, with some Surfer Birds, Shortning breads and Gamma Goochies packed in. It must be my childish mind to make me love these sounds collected here since I had tried to suggest the series to some of my friends getting mostly a lukewarm feedback. Instead, it seems kids love to join in the singing and get good fun out of the oddities featured here. The best prove of appreciation comes from my 7yo grandson who picked the Italian version on the Martian tale as his fave sing-a-long tune asking his female coed if she knew “Il Surf del Marziano”… So never mind the Jenka, the Madison, the Hula and even La Bostella, and remember: This is for kids! (you might still send me your comments tho’…)
