Garage Tapes Blog & 60s (Mostly) Uncomped present: 72 versions of "Shakin' All Over"

I actually have no big merits in this monster project. Years ago, my good buddy HJ Klitsch, author of the Bible of German beatbands aptly dubbed Shakin’ all Over had sent me some CDs from his collection of eponymous song versions. It was an easy job to select about 30 recordings from the 60s and add a few more. Other than for my pal Michael from GarageTapes who did some deep diggin‘ for even more (and even rarer) versions, did the audio clean up, put the whole shebang in a row and did the artwork, too.
Anyway, the tune itself deserves this here collection as in the early 60s it was the first riff for hoards of guitar (and bass) players, writer included. Easy to learn, but apparently not easy to perform, as you might experience here as well. Precise structure (just a few bands here detour slightly), and it doesn’t need much time to convey the message.
And, finally, a fat occasion / a necessity to throw in some hilarious dada lyrics.
Be warned, tho’: While listening to this megamonstermix, you might notice your friends start to leave the room, laugh at you, avoid you.

Don’t worry. Drivers down my Backhound! Or, in other words, as Lord Uli (RiP) rightly hollers: “Steivers Sisters Spam Poon!”
