Taking a big leap exactly towards the north of the hemisphere, we once again explore Canada in the 60s. Sounds like our Canadian comrades were more impressed by the Beatles than the Rolling Stones, and more by the Zombies than Them, but I don’t blame them for that. In fact, many of the tunes gathered here might remind you of the Fab 4, and if you can forgive some of the bands for dressing up in French flic-uniforms, for sporting pink hair, or wearing ancient Roman costumes on stage, I guess good listening fun will be the reward. As I’m aware I’ve got some faithful followers living on the northern side of the globe (Marc, rntcj) I have tried to collect some sounds that hopefully might be unheard even by Canadian residents. At any rate, all 28 tunes should be uncomped*, tedious series as “Les Introvables” (not availabe in Europe) apart. So once again, dig the cool sounds of Canada brothers and sisters!
* it escaped me that track #27 appeared on the fab Groupes Quebecois Vol. I and was picked up by garagetapes.blogspot for tape # 104
