Maybe Shake! Shout! and Monkiss! would have been an apt title, or Jerk, Shimmy Shimmy and Shu Fly Shu! At any rate, I guess song titles like Can Your Monkey Do the Dog and Do The Push And Pull say it all… so here we are back again with 100 rare-as-hell tunes picking up were Mod Part Vol. 1 – 4 left us quite exactly 4 years ago.* I find it hard to tag this genre of mostly highly danceable tunes, sure it would not be pigeon- holed Black Music as nearly half of the combos are whities, not Garage, tho’ often a mayhem much worse, not Soul, not Boogaloo, not MOR pop, not Funk, so I just name it Mod Music, as I believe this was the music UK Mods listened (and danced) to in the 60s. And, hopefully, Y-generation Mods will do, too. I hope you’ll dig my selection comrades! (Nitty Gritty and Bacon Fat in the comments)
