About Yugoslavia in the 60s, I’ve seen no other compilation than the Yugobeat-LP by the Out Of Limits-Label. So here’s the missing tracks. Of the 22 pieces, you’ll hear a few instrumentals and many cover-versions of which Gloria probably even tops the original and Wild Thing excels for its really wild approach, whereas the Kink’s “most exclusive residence” gets a nice brass-treatment (the Youtube-videoclip of this song gets you an idea of how an exclusive residence looked like in ex-Yugoslavia). As most of the tracks are ripped from Youtube, please don’t mind about sound quality which is great if you consider the poor conditions of the recording facilities in ex-Yugoland. Huge thanks go out to Lajso who has collected the whole scene on http://yurockfromsixties.blogspot.com (unfortunately, his site seems to be off line by now and you can only get access to the cache-version). So kudos to the Yugos and enjoy the show!
